A severe thunderstorm watch remains in place for Saskatoon and area.

The agency says an unstable air mass is expected to produce severe storms as a surface low tracks northeast from Montana in Saskatchewan Friday afternoon.

Some severe weather is expected to track into the northern grain belt over west-central parts of the province in the late evening and overnight.

The thunderstorms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
